With a population just shy of 80,000, Harlow in Essex is a "new town", mostly being developed after World War II to create extra capacity for an increasingly out-of-space London. Harlow offers its residents and businesses attractive transportation links. The town centre itself is an attractive shopping destination, with a range of well known high street brands such as Marks & Spencer, BHS, WH Smith, Monsoon, River Island, Next and Top Shop.

It is close to the M11 and also to Stansted Airport. It has two mainline train stations which operate services into London Liverpool Street.
